These pictures make me think of one of my favorite little midwestern trashy nerdrock bands Couch Flambeau, and their song “The Zoo Is Cool.“

Today we’re celebrating marriage in all it’s wonderous forms. In our comics, we’ve got the shocking secrets behind what happened on Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s wedding day revealed in the One Moment In Time storyline… and here in the real world we’re all on the edge of our seats awaiting Judge Walker’s historic decision later today regarding California’s Prop 8 gay marriage ban.
My staff and I here at the Isotope are all hopeless romantics. We believe that all people should have the privilege of living in wedded bliss regardless of their plumbing. So we’re crossing our fingers for a righteous pro-wedded bliss judgement today!
UPDATE: Prop 8 marriage ban overturned!
The Isotope is Best of the Bay!
Thank you SF Bay Guardian and all you fine folks for making us Best Comic Store 2010 in the Guardian’s Best of the Bay awards reader’s poll.

The staff with the getaway faces! This week’s pictures theme is the IsoStaff’s tribute to Darwyn Cooke and Richard Stark’s Parker: The Man With The Getaway Face. See Dar’s version of this same scene on the comic’s original cover here.
We had fun playing with the Scott Pilgrim Avatar Creator this week. I don’t think any of us could be more excited about that movie!
See the full-size versions of the IsoStaff avatars here, here and here.
The IsoStaff and I are gearing up for an exciting Pride Weekend and showing some love for a few of our favorite queer comics too. If you don’t own yourself copies of Wuvable Oaf, Princess Witch Boy, and Stuck Rubber Baby it’s the perfect time to pick ‘em up. See you at the parade and the Eagle this weekend!
Inspired by Storm’s artcrime shirt by Jeremy Novy, the staff poses by our favorite Hayes Valley wheatpaste wall.
